I am a sculptor, teacher, researcher and cultural animator with B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Fine Art, specialising in Sculpture; Applied Art in Glass, Architectural Glass and Ceramics and an M.Sc. degree in Economics, specialising in Economic Cybernetics and Computer Science.

Having lived in Edinburgh, Warsaw, Moscow, Hong Kong and Hoon (Libya), I still travel a great deal. I have been based for the last thirty years in the beautiful historic city of Durham, in the North East of England which has stimulated my fascination for historical places.

I work with different media, primarily sculpture but also printing, painting and installation and in different materials: stone, metal, concrete, wood, ceramic, glass and light. I am particularly interested in using transparent or semi-transparent materials in my sculptures as these allow me to give an impression of an additional dimension by looking inside the sculptures. I have shown my works in many exhibitions in the U.K. and abroad, as listed below. Invited to represent the U.K. in Iceland I exhibited in association with a U.K. Trade & Investment programme and exhibited at the Moscow Biennale 2015.  I also erected several public sculptures in the U.K. and abroad and was selected in an international competition to produce a public sculpture for the city of Tehran in March 2007. My most prestigious project to date was a sculpture named Echo of the Past made for Durham Cathedral, thus becoming the first artist since the 16th century to be allowed to exhibit upon the magnificent Neville Screen behind the Main Altar. This exhibit was a huge success, drawing enthusiastic reviews in the local and national press and an interview on BBC News. The Dean and Chapter are keen to repeat the event next year.
